Long before the Swanson brothers introduced frozen TV dinners to the world in the 1950s, my grandmother conceived a similar concept. However, due to the societal norms prevailing at the time, her idea never saw the light of day. When she went to her local banker to get a loan to pursue her concept, he laughed at her and said he was going to save her from her bad idea. My grandmother’s story is not unique and even today only 6% of the lead patent holders in the U.S. are women. It is time for this to change and that is why I joined Marie to create nVentra. We want to break the barriers and empower women inventors!
